Packing a 1.3in OLED touchscreen and connecting to your phone over Bluetooth, the Xperia SmartWatch lets you see messages and emails, control your music, check caller ID, and much more besides. 255 widgets are currently available and no doubt more will follow.

Among the coolest is the ability to see the view through your phone's camera on the watch. The usefulness of this might be debatable but it works pretty well.

Crucially the watch actually looks pretty good. It's slim at just 8mm thick, and is only 36mm square. It also feels well built with a glass screen and metal chassis and buttons, and a comfortable (if sweat-enhancing) silicone strap. It also weighs just 15.5g.

The most crucial thing, though, is that we were told the watch should last from four days to a week between charges, making it genuinely practical. Set to cost $149 (no UK price yet) it could well be the perfect accessory for Xperia handset owners.
